What you can automate with Storyblok

Storyblok is a headless CMS that separates your content from your front-end code, giving development teams the freedom to build with any framework while content editors work in a visual drag-and-drop interface. It is a popular choice for businesses running multi-channel content strategies — websites, mobile apps, digital signage — from a single content hub. The challenge most organisations face with traditional CMS platforms like WordPress is tight coupling between content and presentation. When you need the same product descriptions, help articles, or marketing copy across a website, an app, and an in-store kiosk, you end up duplicating work or building brittle workarounds. Storyblok solves this by storing content as structured data accessible via API, so any front-end can pull exactly what it needs. Using n8n, you can connect Storyblok to your wider business systems — syncing published content to a CRM, triggering translation workflows when new stories are created, or pushing product updates from your ERP straight into Storyblok components. The n8n Storyblok node supports reading, creating, and updating stories, making it straightforward to automate content operations without writing custom middleware. If you are running a headless CMS setup and want to automate the content workflows around it, our system integration services can help you connect Storyblok to your existing tools and reduce the manual overhead of multi-channel publishing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about how Storyblok consultants can help with integration and implementation

Businesses that publish content across multiple channels get the most value. E-commerce companies pushing product content to web, app, and marketplaces are a common example. Media companies distributing articles across platforms also benefit. If you only have a single WordPress site with basic needs, a headless CMS is likely overkill.

How it works

We work hand-in-hand with you to implement Storyblok

As Storyblok consultants we work with you hand in hand build more efficient and effective operations. Here’s how we will work with you to automate your business and integrate Storyblok with integrate and automate 800+ tools.

Step 1

Connect Storyblok to n8n

Add your Storyblok API credentials in n8n by creating a new Storyblok API credential with your Management API token. This token is found in your Storyblok space settings under the API keys section. Once saved, the n8n Storyblok node can authenticate against your content space.

Step 2

Map your content model

Document which Storyblok components (content types, nested blocks, field names) you want to automate. This mapping determines how your n8n workflow constructs JSON payloads — for example, knowing that a product page component expects a 'price' field of type number and a 'description' field of type richtext.

Step 3

Build your trigger

Decide what starts the workflow. Common triggers include a webhook from Storyblok when content is published, a schedule that runs every hour to check for changes, or an event from another system (such as a new product in Shopify). Add the appropriate trigger node to your n8n workflow canvas.

Step 4

Transform and route data

Use n8n's Set, IF, and Function nodes to shape the incoming data into the format Storyblok expects. If you are syncing from an external system, this step handles field mapping, data type conversion, and any conditional logic (for example, only updating Storyblok if the source record has actually changed).

Step 5

Push content to Storyblok

Add the Storyblok node to your workflow and configure it to create or update a story. Set the space ID, specify the parent folder if needed, and pass in the content JSON you constructed in the previous step. Test with a draft story first before enabling automatic publishing.

Step 6

Add error handling and monitoring

Attach an Error Trigger node to catch any failures in the workflow. Route errors to a Slack channel or email so your team is alerted immediately. For production workflows, also consider logging each run's output to a Google Sheet or database for audit purposes.
